The series was entirely about Frank Olson, his government career, and his CIA inspired death.
What made it so interesting was the son, mentioned in this article, was the narrator throughout the series. As a young boy observing his father, he offered insights that can never be brought to total clarity with just the written word.

I watched a 6-part docudrama, "Wormwood" (2017), about Frank Olson and his son's search to discover what had really happened to his father, leading up to the exhumation. It's a bit slow because they made it in the style of tv documentaries where they keep cutting out for ads (though there are no ads in the DVD, just the script-cuts), and then they come back (after the missing ad) with a recap of what happened so far, before moving on with the story. It was really interesting as most of the story is told by Eric Olson (Frank Olson's son), testifying what happened, with then a mix of archival historical footage, photos of places where things happened in the modern day, and docudrama re-enactments of things the son had seen, or that they believed had happened.
