And if someone is being paid, even by subscribers, it makes them censor themselves in order not to lose followers. Thanks for your thoughts Denise. I’d push back on the last part though: I have paid subscribers and I do not ever censor myself. If you start doing that, you’ll continue digging yourself a deeper hole. I am building a newsletter where my core audience consists of people with critical thinking skills who do not expect somebody (that person being me) to always have the same opinion as them. They do not want to live in an echo chamber. It’s certainly not the easiest route because I do alienate some people, but I’m fine with that. You’re either my people or you’re not.
I should have qualified the statement with those who insist on paid subscriptions. I know you are a stalwart truth teller and that's very much valued by me at least and I'm sure others too. And yeah, if we only hang out with people who think like us, we'll remain static and stagnant and that's just like a hovering death. Keep up the great work Maddie, speaking your truth. Once an influencer gets a following, he or she can easily become dependent on the revenue stream. That makes it difficult to maintain integrity because telling the truth might lose followers and the revenues.
I have been warning for years now about Russia influence in our social media platforms. I have written the FBI about this and limited things have been done. The FBI caught an outfit in Tennessee who was being paid by Russia. Never heard anything more about it. It’s been a huge problem.
Is she asking about how that company wants the script read in a clear order for the promo piece? Is that wrong. Is her polished endorsement due to the fact that she also believes in these beliefs? Do you hate these beliefs?
