A very brief synopsis of the Beaver Island history is that in the 1800's when the Mormons were heading westward to escape persecution there was a portion of the group under the leadership of James Strang that disagreed with the main sect on the subject of polygamy. They split off from the main group in the Midwest and eventually made their way to Beaver Island which Strang envisioned as a potential kingdom under his rule. The Island at the time was populated by Irish immigrants who had established an agrarian culture there. Strand and his followers managed to assimilate themselves into the population and then proceeded to take over, running many of the Irish off the island and persecuting the remainder. Strang declared himself king of the island and declared the settlement an autonomous country and ruled with an iron fist. Polygamy was practiced and Strang had many wives and also partook of many of his followers wives. Seemingly the country didn't take much notice of this "kingdom" and nothing was done about it. Strang was murdered by one of his followers and the leaderless sect was violently chased from the island by the remaining Irish. There are still names on the island that hark back to this period such as the town of St. James and Lake Geneserath in the southern portion of the island. I visited there once briefly in the 80's and it's a beautiful place. A lot of the archipelago is a wildlife preserve and all of North Fox Island is a state owned preserve now.
Beaver Island has the dubious distinction of being the only kingdom ever established in the United States. I'm surprised tr*mp hasn't taken that as a challenge. There are history books with far more extensive coverage of that chapter in Michigan's history but that's it in a nutshell.

I heard about the network of pedos operating/visiting "farms" in MI and WI where wealthy clients would fly-in to partake of sexual/physical abuse of children. As you have so well described, these networks are extensive and Epstein is just the tip of the iceberg. I am, also, a CSA survivor as the result of a coerced incestual relationship with an older cousin who was the Dir. of Athletics at Brooklyn HS outside Cleveland.
